After comedian Trevor Noah, now it's Jimmy Carr's turn to perform in India. The British comedian has announced his India tour for January next year. This will be Carr's first tour in India. On Friday, the comedian took to his Instagram to share tour dates in India. He will be performing in three cities in India.

Jimmy Carr's announcement came as a surprise to fans. The British comedian took to Instagram and shared a picture of the tour dates for his Terribly Funny show in India. The tour will take place in New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore on January 19, 20 and 21 respectively. In the caption, he shared, "Very excited to announce my first ever tour dates in India! I’ll be bringing the Terribly Funny tour to New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore in January 2024. Tickets are on sale now at JIMMYCARR.COM"

Jimmy Carr is a comedian well known for his deadpan style of delivery of controversial one-liners.  He began his comedy career in 1997, and he has regularly appeared on television as the host of Channel 4 panel shows such as 8 Out of 10 Cats, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, and The Big Fat Quiz of the Year.

Carr has been equally appreciated and criticized for his work. More recently, in 2021, Carr landed in trouble with a joke on the Holocaust in his Netflix special His Dark Material. He was condemned by the Auschwitz Memorial, Hope not Hate and The Traveller Movement, who called anti-Romani prejudice the "last acceptable form of racism" in the UK. He also faced criticism from British politicians, including Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Nadine Dorries, the culture secretary. The Holocaust Memorial Day Trust said they were "absolutely appalled" and "horrified", and described Carr's joke as "abhorrent". Despite the criticism, Carr stood by the joke.

Meanwhile, Trevor Noah performed in India last week in the same three cities as mentioned above. He first performed in Delhi and was scheduled to perform in Bengaluru. However, the Bengaluru shows had to be cancelled owing to technical issues. The comedian roasted the venue during his show in Mumbai. Before leaving the country, Noah penned a note appreciating India and promised to come back to Bengaluru.
