The 78th edition of the Cannes Film Festival kicked off this Tuesday, and we already have a dress mishap, courtesy of the new dress code disallowing nudity and extravagantly large outfits on the red carpet. For her Cannes 2025 appearance, one of the jury members, Halle Berry, had entrusted Gaurav Gupta with designing an amazing outfit for her. The Indian designer followed the memo, but Berry had to ditch the ensemble at the last minute due to the new rule in place.

New regulations banning nudity on the red carpet, as well as long dress trains, forced Berry to leave behind her stunning gown specially crafted for the occasion, as the train was too big. Talking about the last-minute wardrobe change, the Oscar winner told reporters, "I had an amazing dress to wear tonight by Gupta, and I cannot wear it because the train is too big." She further added, "Of course, I`m going to follow the rules."
