“A day without laughter is a day wasted,” said the greatest comedian of all, Charlie Chaplin. For over a century, his bowler hat, cane, and unmistakable walk have brought laughter, hope, and comfort to millions. Charlie Chaplin is, in many ways, ageless. In India, his influence has transcended generations inspiring filmmakers, actors, and everyday dreamers who found in him a reflection of their own resilience and joy. This November, Lionsgate Play invites audiences to rediscover the world’s most beloved storyteller whose career spanned decades. On November 14, the platform will present an exclusive showcase of 17 Charlie Chaplin classics, a tribute to the man who turned silence into poetry and comedy into timeless truth.
The collection features some of Chaplin’s most unforgettable works, including Modern Times, The Kid, City Lights, The Gold Rush, The Great Dictator, The Circus, Limelight, A King in New York, and The Idle Class amongst others. Each film represents a chapter in his extraordinary journey as an actor, director, and composer, a body of work that continues to move generations long after the lights of his studio dimmed.
