All eyes were on the nominations for the 2023 International Emmy Awards, which were announced on September 26. The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences released the list of 56 nominees across 14 categories and spanning 20 countries. 


The nominees will convene in New York at The International Emmy World Television Festival for Nominee Panels & Presentations and special events, from November 17-19. The winners will be announced at the 51st International Emmy Awards Gala in New York City, on Monday, November 20, 2023.


The nominees were from Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, India, Israel, Japan, Mexico, Portugal, Qatar, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Turkey and the United Kingdom. Indian actors, Shefali Shah, Vir Das and Jim Sarbh bagged top nominations for Delhi Crime 2, Vir Dar: Landing and Rocket Boys.


Shefali was nominated in the Best Performance by an Actress category along with Connie Nielsen for Drømmeren – Karen Blixen Bliver Til and Karla Souza for La Caída [Dive]. She played the role of DCP Vartika Chaturvedi in the franchise. The first season of Delhi Crime became India's first web series to win an International Emmy Award in 2020. Reacting to it, the actress wrote on Instagram, "OMGGGGG I still can’t believe it. Feel so so honoured to be nominated at the International Emmys alongside such esteemed artists. This one is really special and more so because it is for a character I am very very close to, Vartika Chaturvedi and for my favourite show #DelhiCrime2. Vir was nominated in the Comedy segment with Derry Girls – Season 3 and Le Flambeau – Season 2 [La Flamme]. Sharing a post on the same, the comedian wrote, "WHAT!!!!!! I got nominated for an Emmy award for best comedy 😊 my second iEmmy nomination. To everyone who worked on this show Vir Das Landing, I am SO proud of you, and so grateful to @netflix_in for letting me tell my story. Jim, who played the role of Dr Hombi Bhabha in Rocket Boys, bagged a nomination in the Best Performance by an Actor category with Gustavo Bassani (Iosi, El Espía Arrepentido) and Jonas Karlsson (Nattryttarna [Riding in Darkness]).
