Sydney Sweeney was at the center of attention when she launched a new range of bath soap. The unique element of the soap was that it was made with her bathwater. Marketed primarily for men, the product sold out within seconds despite facing heavy criticism online. Months after the launch, Sweeney has finally reacted to the backlash and controversy, making it clear that she has no regrets.

Sydney Sweeney on bathwater soap criticism

In June, the 27-year-old faced criticism for her partnership with Dr. Squatch. The product, officially called Sydney’s Bathwater Bliss, was created using Sweeney`s actual bathwater. In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, she defended her decision to launch the soap by comparing it to her Euphoria co-star Jacob Elordi. In January 2024, a candle marketed as “Elordi’s Bathwater” became a social media sensation after the release of Saltburn.

Addressing the criticism, Sweeney said, "It was mainly the girls making comments about it, which I thought was really interesting. They all loved the idea of Jacob Elordi’s bathwater. I think it’s important to have a finger on the pulse of what people are saying, because everything is a conversation with the audience."
