The vocalist, who was previously thought to be in Los Angeles with other BTS members for their upcoming album, is now rumored to be in Seoul. Fans speculate that his visit was to meet his close friend, ASTRO member Cha Eun-woo, who is about to begin his mandatory military service.

BTS members have been in Los Angeles for the past two months, working on their highly anticipated comeback album. BTS leader RM (Kim Namjoon) arrived first, followed by the rest of the group. Fans expected all members to be there in Los Angeles until word of Jungkook's appearance in South Korea surfaced online.
