He said, "Thank you to director Park for your kind words. Congratulations to the Toronto International Film Festival for its 50-year anniversary. This is my fifth year at TIFF, and I’m so proud to be a small part of this great festival. I began my acting career 35 years ago in television dramas. But in my heart, I always had a love for film. In the year 2000, I was in a film directed by Park Chan-wook called Joint Security Area. I was finally able to realise my dream of being in a hit film."
