The fate of Vijay`s final film, Jana Nayagan, remains uncertain, as the film still awaits clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The delay in certification has led to the makers hastily postponing its release just two days before its scheduled release date. However, by then, advance bookings had already opened, and thousands of tickets had already been sold worldwide. Following the delay and uncertainty, the makers and ticketing platforms have started a refund process, which is believed to be India`s largest ticket refund.

Jana Nayagan to issue India`s largest ticket refund

Jana Nayagan was all set to hit the screens on January 9, just in time for the Pongal weekend. However, on the evening of January 7, the makers announced that the film was being postponed indefinitely. The reason for the delay was a non-issue of a certificate from the CBFC. The film’s makers and Vijay moved the Madras High Court over the non-issuance.
