The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday started a detailed questioning of actor-turned-politician Vijay as part of its probe into the Karur stampede incident. The CBI will focus on grilling the actor about alleged delays, crowd management lapses, and organisational responsibilities related to the event, according to reports. Notably, the CBI took over the investigation from the Tamil Nadu Police in October last year following a Supreme Court order.

One of the key issues that will be a part of the questioning is the alleged seven-hour delay at the venue. Investigators are investigating the discrepancy between the programme's scheduled start time and Vijay's actual arrival. They want to find out whether the delay contributed to the crowd increasing and loss of control.
