Days after actor Dileep’s acquittal, the Kerala assault survivor broke her silence, expressing disappointment with the verdict and saying not every citizen is treated equally before the law

Dileep
In a dramatic conclusion to one of Kerala’s most sensational criminal trials, Malayalam actor Dileep was on Monday acquitted by the Ernakulam Principal Sessions Court in the 2017 actress abduction and sexual assault case. Days after the verdict, the survivor on Sunday broke her silence and issued her first public statement, expressing disappointment with the judgment.
The survivor’s recent Instagram post read, “December 12, 2025... After 8 years, 9 months, and 23 days, I finally saw a small ray of light at the end of a very long and painful journey. Six of the accused have been convicted, and for that, I am GRATEFUL!! This moment is dedicated to those who chose to call my pain a lie and this case a made-up story. I hope you are at peace with yourselves today!!” (sic)
