Mammootty has begun the year on a high, receiving multiple accolades for his immense contribution to cinema. On the same day he won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor for his performance in Bramayugam, the legendary actor was also conferred with the prestigious Padma Bhushan by the Central Government.

Mammootty's Padma Bhushan honour celebrated

The milestone was celebrated on the sets of his upcoming film Padayaatra, directed by Adoor Gopalakrishnan. On the sets, the Malayalam cinema superstar was felicitated by Adoor Gopalakrishnan, who draped a shawl around him and presented him with a bouquet of flowers. The team later cut a cake to mark the occasion. Actors Grace Antony and Indrans, who play key roles in the film, were also present during the celebrations.
