Mohanlal and Mammootty were both contenders for the Best Actor honour at the Kerala State Film Awards announced today. Mammootty bagged the award for his nuanced act as a goblin in the horror film Bramayugam. Soon after the winners were announced, Mohanlal congratulated all the winners with a special mention for Mammootty.

Taking to his X handle, Mohanlal wrote, “Heartfelt congratulations to all the winners of the Kerala State Film Awards! Special love to my Ichakka for winning Best Actor, congratulations to Shamla Hamza for being honoured as Best Actress, and to Chidambaram for the Best Director award.”
