On Republic Day, when patriotism often arrives wrapped in platitudes, actor Parvathy Thiruvothu turned the spotlight back to the Constitution itself in collaboration with United For Human Rights. As part of its ‘Read Me My Rights’ campaign, the National Award-winning actor took to social media to read out two of the most foundational promises of Indian democracy - fundamental rights that feel as urgent today as they did the day they were written.

She began with Article 14, reading aloud: “The State shall not deny to any person equality before the law or the equal protection of the laws within the territory of India.”
