Ram Charan, despite his big-screen extravaganzas, is also recognised for his spiritual side, particularly his dedicated observance of the Ayyappa Deeksha. The entertainment industry can be demanding with glamorous appeal and rigorous shoots; however, despite the never-ending hustle, Ram Charan has continued to maintain the tradition for over two decades. His dedication is often cited as a testament to his down-to-earth nature and his commitment to Sanatana Dharma.
During the 41-day spiritual austerity undertaken by devotees, Ram Charan consistently observes a 40-day Deeksha (vratham) before visiting the Sabarimala temple in Kerala. Among the many strict customs that he follows, the actor wears the Ayyappa Mala every day during this time. He also keeps his lifestyle very simple and calm. He wears black attire, walks barefoot, follows a sattvic (vegetarian diet), and also focuses on peace, devotion, and self-control.
