Veteran Malayalam actor, screenwriter, director and producer Sreenivasan passed away on Saturday at the age of 69, leaving behind a prolific body of work that shaped Malayalam cinema’s social and comic sensibility for over four decades. He is survived by his wife, Vimala Sreenivasan, and sons Vineeth Sreenivasan and Dhyan Sreenivasan.

Sreenivasan died at a private hospital near here on Saturday morning, film industry sources said. He was admitted to a hospital in Tripunithura on Friday night due to prolonged illness and breathed his last this morning.
