Icon star Allu Arjun has been arrested in connection with a stampede at Sandhya Theatre during the premiere of his latest hit Pushpa 2 on December 4, which resulted in the death of a 35-year-old woman and left her son critically injured. A case was filed against the actor, his security, and theatre management, accusing them of poor crowd control. On December 13, the police took Allu Arjun into custody, citing a lack of prior notification of his visit and inadequate security measures. Allu Arjun has announced Rs 25 lakh assistance for the deceased's family, expressing his heartbreak over the tragedy.
