Sony Entertainment Television is preparing to introduce the iconic global reality game show Wheel of Fortune to Indian television and over-the-top (OTT) platforms, with Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar as the host. The move follows Kaun Banega Crorepati`s decades-long unrivalled success, which demonstrated Indian consumers` lasting affection for sophisticated, family-friendly game shows.

Akshay Kumar returns to Reality TV

According to Hindustan Times` industry sources, Sony has bought the Indian rights to Wheel of Fortune, one of the world`s longest-running and most successful reality formats, and is planning a huge desi relaunch with high production standards, enormous rewards, and mass appeal, hosted by Akshay Kumar. The shoot begins in mid-January.
