After enjoying a long run on television, the crime investigation show, CID 2, headlined by Shivaji Satam, marked its return. The original show, which ran for 20 years, ended in 2018. The makers later brought the show back for a second season started last year, amid much buzz and nostalgia among the fans. However, within just one year of launch, reports now suggest that the makers are planning to axe the show due to an underwhelming response.

CID 2 going off air?

According to a report in Bollywood Life, CID might be pulled off air since it is unable to generate the required TRPs. The show brought in a number of plot twists ever since its launch in 2024; however, it looks like nothing is working in their favour.

According to a Filmibeat report, sources told them, "Despite initial promise and buzz, the crime thriller has failed to strike a connection with the audience. The initial nostalgia seems to have faded out as the numbers have dropped significantly since the first episode in December. The channel and the production house have attempted all measures to spice up the viewership. Parth Samthaan`s entry didn`t fetch many numbers for the show."
