Kumkum Bhagya recently wrapped up its long run and went offair The show had 4 generations which were played by Sriti Jha Shabir Ahluwalia Krishna Kaul Mugdha Chaphekar Abrar Qazi Rachi Sharma and the last generation had Akshay Dev Bindra Pranali Rathod and Namik Paul In an exclusive chat with midday Akshay got candid about his journey with the show on Kumkum Bhagya being his first lead and moreAkshay gets candid about his journey with Kumkum BhagyaWhen asked about his journey with the show Akshay shared I really enjoyed the show It was my first show as a lead and the experience was hectic at first because everything is so fastpaced you know from scripts to taking out the perday episode you know 2225 minutes a day 1213 scenes big scenes every day So much pressure from the directors and production It was very new to me But within a week I just got into that you know skin of the character and that was easy So I really enjoyed good coactors give and take was good and production was very nice So the overall experience was amazing I learned a lot its like a daily workshop So six months of daily workshops really polished meHe further opened up on his experience on working with TV stalwarts Theyve all been working in TV for a long time Theyve all done like five six shows maybe more Working with experienced artists is about the give and take they offer For an actor a giveandtake is very important in a scene Because if theyre involved completely then you can also give because you get that emotion in reciprocation So thats what I learned to be in the moment all the time So it was a great learning experienceAkshay talks about working on his craftAkshay revealed that he has been working on his craft Irsquove been preparing my craft through different methods but it often takes a lot of timemdashfirst you get the script then you get into the character One thing Irsquove learned from all my teachers is that if you donrsquot get much time to prepare the least you can do is be in the moment When yoursquore truly present and feeling the emotion right there and then the scene comes out beautifully Thatrsquos exactly what I did If I had more time I could have done even better but being in the moment helped the audience really connect to the character RonakOn working for his role Ronak in Kumkum Bhagya I got into Ronakrsquos skin his emotions his pain his revenge his love his friendships The role had a strong character graph from a flamboyant boy who was sweet obedient and traditional to someone who meets a girlmdashhis childhood friendmdashfalls in love first denies his feelings then finally accepts them When that love is snatched away he feels the pain seeks revenge and eventually turns negative I got to portray a vast range of emotions and shades through Ronak which made it a great deal for me
