Actor and Member of Parliament Ravi Kishan has strongly advocated for the introduction of National Awards for television, stating that such recognition would significantly elevate the quality of content and performances in the medium. With decades of experience across television, films and OTT platforms, Kishan believes that national-level acknowledgment can act as a powerful motivator for creators and actors alike.
Speaking on the issue, Ravi Kishan said he plans to formally raise the proposal with the government. “I will write to the ministry to create a category for TV shows in the National Film Awards,” he said. “This will enhance the quality of content and performances on television and create pressure on them to deliver. It can be implemented for different regional languages as well.”
