Actress Saumya Tandon became a household name as Anita Bhabhi after the popular sitcom Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain. Reports were doing the rounds that the actress was going to quit the show owing to the pandemic. In August, she confirmed that she had indeed quit the show, followed by which the makers replaced her with Nehha Pendse.

In a recent interview, Saumya, who is also best remembered as Roop from Jab We Met, expressed her views on being replaced by Nehha. Speaking to The Times of India, Saumya said, "I'm happy to hear this news. Nehha is a good choice. I have worked with her on a non-fiction show. While I hosted it, she performed gags in it. She is talented and professional. I am certain that she will do justice to the part. I have given my sweat, blood and heart to this character. I am glad she is portraying it."

She continued, "An actor's exit also plays a role in how well the viewer accepts the replacement. I exited the show on a good note. It was a mutual decision. There was no bad blood or animosity. Nehha is a fine actor and I am sure that the audience will accept her wholeheartedly."

She admits that she misses the cast and crew of the show. "My decision to quit the show was well thought out. I had made up my mind. I had done what I had to and showcased what I had to showcase. It was time for me to move on and I did it with a lot of positivity. This break also gave me ample time to spend quality time with my family. All the major events in my life took place when I was working constantly, including marriage and motherhood. I am grateful that I got to be with my husband and baby during this time,” said Sauyma, adding, “I worked on that show for five years and they became like family to me. I am still in touch with so many of them, including my producers and co-actors. The relationship I have forged with them is for life," she continued.

A few days back, Saumya had revealed the reason why she quit the popular show. She said, "It might be a shock for everyone else, but to me, I was personally pre-meditating since a while. I'm going to definitely miss everybody a lot. Working with the same unit for so long, it had almost become life, spending 10-12 hours daily with them. We've seen each other go through ups and downs. I have great bonds and friends in Aasif (Sheikh, co-star) ji, Rohitash (Gaud) ji, and all the other actors. Why only actors, even the camera, hair and every department. A very beautiful journey has come to an end, for a beautiful beginning".

Speaking about Nehha, the actress is best known for her role in May I Come In Madam?. She was also the contestant in Bigg Boss 12. Talking about her new challenge, Nehha in an interview said, "It is a huge responsibility and no doubt, there are some big shoes to fill. But I am sure the audience will shower their new Anita Bhabi with as much love and affection. I am eagerly looking forward to starting shooting soon."
