Television actor Aashutosh Semwal has revealed that he narrowly escaped the devastating cloudburst that affected Dharali village in Uttarakhand. The actor shared that he had been in the area for work; however, he left the location just a day before the disaster occurred. Aashutosh originally hails from Pipalkoti, a town which is nearly 327 km from Dharali. The actor expressed his relief and gratitude.
During an interview with the Times of India, Aashutosh recalled how close he came to being caught in the calamity, but managed to escape, saying, "I’m safe, our place is safe. I’m thankful to God that I left Dharali just a day before the nightmare." The actor further went on to praise the ongoing relief efforts and environmental measures being undertaken by the government in the wake of the cloudburst. He said, "The government is trying its best to protect not only people but also taking measures to safeguard the flora and fauna that are suffering. I wish and pray for all for the recovery from the disaster," he added.
Aashutosh also opened up that he is currently spending time with family in Dehradun while helping his parents with his wedding preparations. He shared, "As I wasn’t shooting these days, I was spending more time here in my hometown helping my parents who are preparing for my marriage, which is scheduled for November this year."
