Barkha Singh, in an exclusive conversation with mid-day, opened up about working with Pankaj Tripathi in Criminal Justice and why she decided to do the series despite it being different from her previous roles

Barkha Singh has won over the audience with her sweet and vibrant portrayals, especially on OTT. The actress has featured in multiple projects; however, her roles were mainly of the same type – a sweet, bubbly, enthusiastic girl-next-door. However, recently, the audience and fans got to see a different version of her. While still retaining her infectious charm and style, she played a more serious character, that of a lawyer in the acclaimed series, Criminal Justice 4. Here she plays Shivani, a curious and diligent lawyer, an associate of Adv. Madhav Mishra, played by Pankaj Tripathi.

When mid-day got a chance to sit with Barkha for a quick chat, we had to ask her about joining the popular web series franchise, which has seen immense success in the past seasons. Here is what she had to share.

We asked her what made her sign up for Criminal Justice 4 and how the change was for her compared to her previous roles. She tells us, “I was actually very excited, because it was a big shift from the kind of roles I`ve already done. Shivani`s character is a lot more serious, no-nonsense, not bubbly, not jokey. So when Criminal Justice was offered to me, for me, it was a no-brainer. I asked no questions. I just said, yes. I actually told my agency, ‘Figure out the money, dates, and everything. I want to do this’.”
