The year 2019 was a bustling for Palomi Ghosh with three back to back releases — Typewriter, Mission Over Mars, and Satellite Shankar. But the actor was thrilled over a particular audition call — for Tryst with Destiny. She says, “It was an interesting choice on [makers’] part to cast me for the role of Laxmi. Casting can often put you in boxes, but here they went out of it.”

The SonyLIV anthology is a collection of four distinct short stories that capture the socio-economic inequalities existing in society. Each chapter tells the story of an individual in contemporary India and his/her struggle to accept his fate. The story, featuring  Jaideep Ahlawat and Ghosh, revolves around a bribe-taking senior constable Kubera and his paramour Laxmi who have aspirations of owning an apartment in Mumbai. “The core focus of our [narrative] is corruption as seen from the point of view of these two characters. How my relationship with him [evolves] and how my expectations, morals and ideas influence Kubera, [form the crux of the story],” explains Ghosh.
