A day after India’s Sunburn music festival announced that it would be moving to Mumbai for the 2025 edition, the EDM music festival’s CEO Karan Singh has revealed that the move to the Maximum City from Goa has come after “thoughtful consideration of logistical, infrastructural, regulatory factors, as also the suggestions from our community.”
When mid-day reached out to Singh, the festival promoter said Goa has been an inseparable part of Sunburn’s journey for nearly two decades.” Over the last 18 years, the CEO said the sunshine state has given the festival a home when large-scale dance music experiences were still finding their feet in India and helped it grow into one of Asia’s biggest electronic dance music festivals. “Over the years, Sunburn shaped Goa’s reputation as a vibrant music tourism destination, contributed to the local economy and put India firmly on the global festival map. Goa will always remain an integral chapter in our story, it’s where Sunburn found its spirit and built a legacy we’ll always cherish.”
