The fair begun a little late this year but that didn`t stop people from visiting Mount Mary`s steps along with their friends and family today

While the first day is usually crowded, many people expected today to be empty because of the rain but Mumbaikars and devotees came in large numbers to not only pray but also enjoy the festivities

While many came earlier, the crowd starting filling the streets around the Basilica after noon, leading into the evening

While some took their time praying in front of Mother Mary in the sanctuary, others spent time buying the popular kala chana, kadio bodio, petha and more

Apart from food, there were others who also bought holy items like rosaries, prayer books, and even statues from the stalls
