Every year the inner sanctum with Mother Mary’s statue is decorated beautifully with different kinds of flowers. 

<p>While last year, the flowers were pink and white, the sanctum, which has been painstakingly restored by Vasai&rsquo;s Sequeira Brothers this year, had a beautiful mix of yellow and pink flowers surrounding the statue which had `Happy Birthday Mama Mary` glowing through it</p>

<p>It was no different for the statue of Mother Mary opposite the church, which was adorned in a garland of red, white and pink flowers along with sparkly festoons that welcomed visitors praying for a house, as they fixed locks to the gate</p>

<p>Even the statue of Jesus on the Holy Cross was decorated with a garland of red, yellow and white flowers as candles burned below, while people prayed on their way up Mount Mary Basilica`s steps&nbsp;</p>
