The services of three staffers of a private school in <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-crime-news/article/maharashtra-police-team-on-drug-peddlers-trail-assaulted-by-mob-woman-cop-hospitalised-3-held-23336447" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Thane in Maharashtra</a> were terminated on Thursday in connection with the molestation of children in a bus while they were on their way to a picnic, reported the PTI.
According to the PTI, the incident took place on February 20 when students of a private school had gone to a theme park in the Ghatkopar area of Mumbai in the private bus.
The attendant of the bus was arrested on Wednesday.
So far, six persons have been relieved of their duties by the school, including three on Wednesday.
Those who were sacked during the day include the principal and COO of the school, sources said.
A letter issued by the school's trustee said an internal committee had been formed to inquire into the February 20 incident.
Thane MLA Sanjay Kelkar visited the school on Thursday in connection with the incident.
Meanwhile, the Kapurbawadi <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-crime-news/article/mumbai-bollywood-actress-vidya-balan-files-fir-against-impersonator-offering-fake-film-industry-jobs-to-people-on-social-media-23336320" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">police</a> have arrested a 27-year-old private bus attendant for sexually assaulting around 8 girls studying in Grade 2 of a well-known international school in Thane. The incident took place on the bus when the kids were returning to Thane after a school-organised picnic.
After the incident came to light, parents gathered at the school premises, demanding the suspension of the management staff, including the CEO, principal and school teachers. The parents claim that the school had organised a picnic through a third party without their consent. The parents gathered at the school again at 7.30 am today to protest against the management and demand suspension of those responsible for the kids&rsquo; wellbeing during the trip.
According to the police, a group of Grade 2 students were taken for a day picnic to Kidzania, Ghatkopar, on February 20. The school had organised the trip through Adventure Education Tours. &ldquo;The incident took place when the kids were returning to Thane. There was a group of 40 students on the bus, all in the age group of 7 to 8 years. The girls claimed that on the pretext of giving sweets and food, the bus attendant had sexually assaulted them,&rdquo; said a police officer.
