Customs seize 12 kg hydroponic weed, gold worth Rs 59 lakh at Mumbai airport

Officers of the Airport Commissionerate under Mumbai Customs Zone-III have seized more than 12 kg of suspected hydroponic weed and gold worth Rs 59.57 lakh in multiple cases detected at the city’s international airport between March 3 and March 10, 2026, officials said.
According to a press release issued by the department, the seizures were made through spot checks, APIS (Advance Passenger Information System) profiling, and specific intelligence inputs, leading to several arrests under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
