A cricket coach was arrested on Monday by the Deonar Police in Mumbai for allegedly sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl during training sessions in Govandi.
According to Deonar Police officials, the incident took place at a ground located in Govandi, which is a sports facility managed by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). The victim, a resident of Ghatkopar, had been travelling to Govandi for the past several months to receive cricket training from the 40-year-old accused coach.
The matter first surfaced when the victim’s family approached the Pant Nagar police in Ghatkopar on Monday afternoon, where they alleged that the accused sexually abused and assaulted the minor girl, which occurred last week, police said.
