A 13-year-old girl has emerged as the key witness in the murder of her father, allegedly orchestrated by her own mother and her lover. The victim, 40-year-old Bharat Ahire, had confronted his wife about her extramarital affair. In response, she and her boyfriend allegedly plotted a brutal assault that ultimately led to his death.

Instead of seeking medical help, the wife kept her severely injured husband confined at home for three days. Unable to watch her father suffer, the couple`s eldest daughter, a Std VII student, alerted relatives, leading to his hospitalisation. After 24 days of treatment, Bharat succumbed to his injuries on August 5. Initially, the wife claimed her husband had been hurt in a bike accident, but the daughter’s testimony told a different story. She revealed that her mother had stood by while her lover and another man assaulted her father. Based on the girl`s account, police arrested the wife and booked her and her boyfriend for murder.
