Andheri East chawl fire: One succumbs to injuries, two critical

The death toll in a fire incident reported in Andheri East earlier this month has risen to one, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said in an official update on December 28.
The fire had broken out on December 21 at Vijay Nagar in Ramabai Ambedkar Nagar Chawl, Andheri East. According to the BMC’s Mumbai Fire Brigade, the blaze was reported at around 7.16 am on December 21 in Room No. 10 on the first floor of a ground-plus-one chawl-like structure.
