The Maharashtra government has claimed that it was behind the arrest of self-claimed Nashik godman captain Ashok Kharat, who has been arrested for allegedly sexually exploiting women.
Fadnavis highlights preventive action
Speaking in the state legislative assembly, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated that in this case, the action was proactive. “Though action has been taken now, preparations had been underway earlier. Even before the arrest of the accused, we had used a complaint from another district to issue a Look-Out Circular (LOC) to prevent Kharat from fleeing,” Fadnavis, who also heads the Home Department, said.
