Ahead of the BMC Election 2026 in January, the Mumbai civic body has launched a crackdown on political banners, posters, hoardings and flags in the city as the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) came into effect on Monday.
The BMC officials on Tuesday said that as many as 1323 political banners and 293 flags were removed from government, public and private properties since Monday. A total number of 2,103 unauthorised political advertisement displays across Mumbai were removed.
