The Congress has resolved an internal dispute related to the Chandrapur Municipal Corporation (CMC) following a high-level meeting of party leaders, Maharashtra Congress Legislature Party leader Vijay Wadettiwar said on Saturday, reported news agency PTI.
The meeting was convened after 13 Congress corporators—out of the party’s 27 elected members in the CMC—on Friday registered themselves as a separate group amid a disagreement between Wadettiwar and local Congress MP Pratibha Dhanorkar. The 13 corporators were aligned with Dhanorkar. Subsequently, the remaining 14 corporators backing Wadettiwar reached the venue and objected to the registration.
