Covid-19: After a gap of three days, Mumbai records cases below 3,000

While 3,608 patients recovered on Saturday, city’s death toll remains a cause for concern. The BMC recorded 62 deaths in a day

In a major relief, after recording more than 3,000 cases for three consecutive days, the city registered 2,678 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday. In the state, the total number of cases registered stands at more than 50,000.

According to the BMC, 33,378 tests were conducted. Meanwhile, 3,608 recoveries were reported on Saturday. But the number of deaths is still a cause for concern with 62 more deaths registered in a single day. Out of these, 31 had comorbidities, 38 were above the age of 60 years, 21 were between 40 and 60 years of age and three were below 40 years of age. The recovery rate has increased to 91 per cent.
