Heavy rains cause waterlogging in Thane and Palghar

The districts of Thane and Palghar in Maharashtra experienced heavy overnight rainfall, resulting in waterlogging in several areas, officials reported on Sunday.

Thane city saw tree branches falling in some locations due to the heavy rains. In the 24-hour period ending at 8:30 am on Sunday, Thane city recorded 37.06 mm of rainfall. The heaviest downpour was between 12:30 am and 1:30 am, with 16.76 mm of rain, followed by another significant spell of 10.93 mm between 3:30 am and 4:30 am, according to Yasin Tadvi, head of the Thane Municipal Corporation`s disaster management cell, reported PTI.
