In a major boost for commuters — especially those working in the IT sector — the much-awaited Hinjewadi to Shivajinagar Metro Line 3 is now set to begin operations by May 2026, offering significant relief from the city’s chronic traffic congestion.

The 23.2-kilometre elevated Metro corridor, being developed by the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, has entered its final phase of completion.
