<p>Prime Minister <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/waves-2025-pm-modi-to-visit-mumbai-on-may-1-to-inaugurate-indias-first-global-audio-visual-and-entertainment-summit-23531934" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Narendra Modi </a>on Thursday inaugurated the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, calling it a transformative platform that unites creators, storytellers, innovators, and policymakers from around the world.</p>
<p>Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the WAVES summit will lay the foundation for a global ecosystem housing international talent and creativity.</p>
<p>In a keynote address to a packed auditorium of global delegates, PM Modi said, "Today, artists, innovators, investors, and policy makers from more than 100 nations have gathered under one roof. We are laying the foundation for a global ecosystem of talent and creativity. WAVES is such a global platform that belongs to every artist and creator."</p>
<p>Inaugurating the first World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) in <a href="https://mid-day.com/amp/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/pm-modi-to-lead-global-media-dialogue-at-waves-summit-in-mumbai-23523093" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Mumbai</a>, he said it was the right time for "create in India, create for world" when the world is looking for new ways of story-telling while India has so much more to offer.</p>
<p>Reflecting on India's growing cultural influence, PM Modi said, "In recent years, Indian cinema has succeeded in carrying the spirit of India to the farthest corners of the world. From Raj Kapoor's legacy in Russia to Satyajit Ray's brilliance at Cannes, and RRR's triumph at the Oscars, these milestones speak volumes."</p>
<p>He continued, "Whether it's Guru Dutt's poetic cinema, AR Rahman's musical rhythms, or Rajamouli's epic storytelling, these narratives have touched the hearts of millions. Just as a mother weaves dreams for her child, the creative world weaves the dreams of an entire era."</p>
<p>PM Modi batted for creative responsibility, saying technology is playing an increasingly important role in people's lives and extra effort was needed to maintain human sensitivity.</p>
<p>"Humans should not be turned into robots. We need to make them more sensitive," he stressed.</p>
<p>The prime minister called for protecting the young generation from anti-humanity ideas.</p>
<p>PM Modi's comments came amid increasing debate over controversial online content, which has prompted the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/entertainment/bollywood-news/article/waves-2025-tech-developer-to-launch-anti-piracy-app-amid-sikandar-leak-23532119" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Supreme Court</a> to seek response from the government.</p>
<p>The prime minister said the WAVES has the potential to provide global talent a platform at a time when India is emerging as an international hub for film production, digital content, gaming, fashion, music and live concerts.</p>
<p>Like Indian 'khana', I am sure Indian 'gaana' will also become globally popular, he said, adding the screen size may be becoming mini but the message (India's stories) is becoming mega.</p>
<p>He added, "Even though the screen size is getting smaller, the scope is becoming infinite."</p>
