Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut on Sunday echoed NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar’s recent claims, stating that two individuals had also approached his party chief Uddhav Thackeray ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024, offering to ensure victory in 60 to 65 "difficult" constituencies — allegedly through manipulation of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), reported PTI.
According to the Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament (MP), the same individuals had earlier met Thackeray during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections as well. However, the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) chief refused to entertain them, citing his faith in the electoral process and democracy, claimed Raut. The Maha Vikas Aghadi had won 30 out of 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra.
On Saturday, Pawar had stirred a political row by revealing that two people had met him before the Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024 and “guaranteed” the Opposition victory in 160 out of 288 seats.
