The Autorickshaw Driver Association, Maharashtra, has announced a statewide protest across all Regional Transport Offices (RTOs) on April 8. The association alleges coercion in the registration process for the newly formed “Dharmaveer Anand Dighe Maharashtra Autorickshaw and Meter Taxi Drivers Welfare Board.”
While issuing an official statement on Tuesday, President Shashank Rao and General Secretary Vilas Bhalekar claimed that autorickshaw drivers are being forced to pay Rs 500 as a registration fee and Rs 300 as an annual fee at RTO offices across the state.
