Banks will face action if they ask for CIBIL scores from farmers as a condition for disbursing agricultural loans, said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis during a meeting of the state-level bankers committee he chaired on Monday, as he directed the banks to disburse agricultural loans to farmers.
In the meeting, Fadnavis mentioned that farmers are the backbone of the state and agriculture is a major part of its economy. He stated that if agriculture loans are not provided to farmers, in many cases it even leads to farmer suicide.
