<p>Chief Minister <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/shivaji-maharaj-tipu-sultan-row-maharashtra-cm-fadnavis-criticises-distorted-history-says-invaders-were-glorified-in-textbooks-23618490" target="_blank" rel="none noopener"><strong>Devendra Fadnavis</strong></a> on Thursday, February 26, said Maharashtra is on course to become a 1 trillion dollar economy by 2029-30, provided the state does not face a major drought.</p>
<p>Speaking in the Legislative Assembly, he said, &ldquo;In case of any adverse situation, the target may be pushed by two years (2032)&rdquo;.</p>
<p>CM Fadnavis also defended the government&rsquo;s decision to sign <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/world-news/article/rs-90-000-crore-mous-signed-in-japan-rs-60-000-crore-in-singapore-up-cm-yogi-adityanath-23618481" target="_blank" rel="none noopener"><strong>MoUs</strong></a> at Davos, calling it crucial for global investor engagement, and said Maharashtra has surged far ahead of other states in the trillion-dollar race.</p>
