As many as four vehicles were reportedly damaged when <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/uttar-pradesh-woman-killed-daughter-injured-in-wall-collapse-in-amethi-23316584" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">a portion of a compound wall of a housing society collapsed</a> on them in Maharashtra's Thane district on Friday, an official said, reported the PTI.
No one was injured in the incident that occurred in the Gholai Nagar area of Kalwa in <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/msrdc-wants-to-hack-3400-trees-in-thane-district-to-widen-nh3-23319146" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Thane district of Maharashtra</a> around 11.30 am, he said, as per the PTI.
A portion of the compound wall of the housing society collapsed, damaging four vehicles parked by its side, said Yasin Tadvi, chief of the civic disaster management cell, the news agency reported.
As a precautionary measure, the area around the wall has been cordoned off, he added.
Meanwhile, a high capacity pressure cooker exploded Thursday in a food outlet on the ground floor of a high-rise in Hiranandani Estate area in Mumbai&rsquo;s neighbouring Thane district, a civic official said.
No one was injured in the incident that took place in the ground-plus-15 storey building at 3pm, said Thane Municipal Corporation regional disaster management cell chief Yasin Tadvi.
"When the 60-litre capacity pressure cooker exploded, two workers in the outlet had just stepped outside and were saved. Fire brigade and RDMC personnel undertook relief operations and cordoned off the area," he told news agency PTI.
The cause of the explosion, which extensively damaged the kitchen of the outlet, is being probed, Tadvi added.
On Wednesday, a 43-year-old man was injured when a fire broke out after a cooking gas cylinder leaked in his house in Thane.
The incident took place at around 11 pm on November 8. "The incident happened in the house located on the fifth floor of a 29-storey building in Waghbil area on Ghodbunder Road," an official said.
"There was leakage of gas from the cylinder which led to the blaze," the TMC official said.
"A man staying in the house received leg injury while trying to put out the blaze. He has been hospitalised," the TMC official added.
"After receiving information, local firemen and the disaster management cell team rushed to the spot and doused the fire in about half an hour. Some items in the kitchen were destroyed in the blaze. The gas cylinder was removed from the house by the fire brigade personnel," he said.
