State plans cluster redevelopment projects aimed towards making Mumbai slum-free

Under the new plan, 17 large slum redevelopment projects have been selected in the first phase across different parts of Mumbai. These projects will be implemented under the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) through a cluster redevelopment model, officials said

Maharashtra government has announced a step towards making Mumbai slum-free, with plans to implement cluster redevelopment projects on land parcels measuring 50 acres or more.

The announcement was made by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in the Legislative Council on Friday.
