Unidentified persons opened fire outside the residence of social media influencer Nadeem Moinuddin Khan, popularly known as &ldquo;Baba Khan&rdquo;, in Mumbra during the early hours of Saturday, <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/dharavi-police-in-mumbai-book-three-in-rs-49-lakh-crypto-investment-fraud-23619786" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">police</a> said. No injuries were reported in the incident.

According to the police, the incident took place around 4 am in the Kausa area of Mumbra. The perpetrators fired two to three rounds outside the influencer&rsquo;s residence before fleeing the scene. One of the bullets hit a car parked outside the building compound, damaging its rear portion.
In a reel posted after the incident, Khan alleged that he had earlier raised concerns about his <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/two-men-held-for-harassing-portuguese-solo-traveller-for-selfies-23619785" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">safety</a> with the police. &ldquo;I complained to the Mumbra police several times about my security situation, but they took it lightly. I even informed the commissioner, but nobody paid attention. Today they [perpetrators] have fired at my house, they have reached my family,&rdquo; he said in the video.

Soon after the incident,the local police station conducted a search and collected preliminary evidence from the scene. Officers said they registered a case under the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-crime-news/article/five-held-for-assaulting-mumbai-civic-body-team-during-anti-hawker-drive-23619753" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita</a> and the Arms Act. CCTV footage from nearby buildings and streets is being examined to identify the suspects and trace their movements.

He is a Mumbra-based social media influencer and self-described <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/maharashtra-government-is-stepping-up-measures-for-professors-and-staff-in-social-work-colleges-higher-and-technical-education-minister-chandrakant-patil-23618488" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">social worker</a> with over 713k followers on Instagram. Through his videos and posts, he often shares content related to local issues, charity work and community matters.
