Devendra Fadnavis offers to resign as Deputy CM

Although BJP won nine seats in state per Maharashtra Lok Sabha Election Results 2024, its tally dwindled by 14 as compared to the 2019 polls.

A day after the Maharashtra Lok Sabha Election Results 2024 were announced, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed the desire to be relieved from the government. While addressing a press conference after a meeting at the BJP's state unit headquarters in Mumbai, Fadnavis said that he wants to work hard for the party in upcoming elections. 

Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis said, "I take the responsibility for such results in Maharashtra. I was leading the party. I am requesting the BJP high command to relieve me from the responsibility of the government so that I can work hard for the party in upcoming elections."
