Maharashtra Minister Sanjay Shirsat confirmed receiving an Income Tax notice over asset growth between 2019 and 2024. He initially claimed Shrikant Shinde also got a notice but later retracted, calling it a misstatement. Maharashtra Minister for Social Justice Sanjay Shirsat on Thursday said he has received a notice from the Income Tax department seeking an explanation of the increase in his assets between the 2019 and 2024 assembly elections.
The Shiv Sena MLA from the Aurangabad (West) constituency also told media outside the legislature complex that Shinde`s son, Kalyan MP Shrikant Shinde, too had received a notice from the Income Tax department, as reported by news agency PTI.
Soon after his statement on the deputy chief minister’s son, Sanjay Shirsat later corrected himself by stating that he had no idea about Shrikant Shinde receiving any income tax notice.
