Maharashtra rain: Boat capsizes off Uran coast; 3 missing, 5 rescued

A boat capsized off the Uran coast in Raigad district of Maharashtra; five people were rescued while searches were going on for three others who were missing, officials said.

Meanwhile, as parts of Maharashtra continue to witness heavy rains, landslide warnings have been issued in Mahabaleshwar due to continuous downpours, and local roads have been closed as a precaution. Both NDRF and SDRF teams have been put on standby for emergency response.

As per a forecast by the Mumbai Regional Meteorological Centre, orange alerts have been issued for Raigad, Pune Ghat and Satara Ghat districts, indicating the possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall in these areas.
