The India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Mumbai on Thursday predicted light rains in parts of Maharashtra and issued a nowcast alert for Thane, Nashik, Nanded, Nandurbar, Pune and some other districts in the state.  

In a nowcast warning issued at 4 pm on Thursday, the IMD Mumbai said, "Light spells of rain very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Nanded, Nashik, Nandurbar, Dhule, Pune, Thane, Satara, Ratnagiri during next 3-4 hours."

Residents in these areas are advised to stay alert and take necessary precautions during this short period of unstable weather.
